On November 8, female activists associated with the National Union for the Revival of Russia were searched in Samara, Voronezh and the Altai Republic. Some police raids lasted for more than 10 hours, as per “Razoblacheno” (“Disclosed”) Telegram channel.
On the morning of November 8, security forces came to at least four activists. They raided the house of Svetlana Belova, the journalist who writes for “Razoblacheno” channel. Svetlana claims that the searches have to do with the fact that she repeatedly covers “lawlessness of security forces”.
A criminal case has been initiated against Voronezh activist Oksana Divisenko. The specific article under which the case was opened has not been named. Security forces also came to Samara resident Alina Lushavina, a member of the Independent Association of Doctors.
The house of Aruna Arna from the Altai region, who happens to be pregnant, has been searched for more than 10 hours. According to “Razoblacheno” channel, it featured about 20 law enforcers. An ambulance arrived at the activist’s house, because she felt unwell.
“She is in a very poor physical condition due to all the moral pressure and stress. An ambulance came, [and the doctors said that Arna is] on the verge of miscarriage”, the activist’s mother said.
After the police raid, Aruna Arna herself said that it was due to her status as a witness on the federal case against supporters of the social activist Svetlana Lada-Rus.
All the women whose homes were searched are associated with the National Union for the Revival of Russia, which was labeled as a foreign agent in May. This movement is led by Svetlana Lada-Rus, who called for the reestablishment of the USSR and overthrow of the government.
Lada-Rus was declared a foreign agent in March 2023. The National Union for the Revival of Russia, among other things, regularly protests against the activities of the Jewish Chabad movement in Russia.
